The Lindow Singers

The Lindow Singers is an enthusiastic mixed voice choir of around 40 singers. The choir gives four main concerts a year, in the Wilmslow and Alderley Edge areas. We sing a range of music, both sacred and secular. We take part in joint concerts with Sale Gilbert and Sullivan Society and with local bands. Social activitiesinclude an annual dinner and a summer barbecue.We are a friendly group and are happy to welcome singers who would like to join us. We rehearse on Monday evenings at the Wilmslow Academy, Handforth from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. We would be very interested in hearing from anyone who would like to sing with us. I teach two balance and strength classes for older adults who either have had a fall or are concerned about falling. The classes are both on Monday mornings 10.15-11.15 and 11.30-12.30 They are at Oakmere on Spath Lane in Handforth Price 4 pounds I have all the necessary qualifications. Please note that these are now run by Hope Central and are open (10 am - 12.30 pm) in Knutsford, Wilmslow and Handforth: Monday at The Welcome Cafe, 146/147 Longridge, Knutsford, WA16 8PD. Wednesday at Lacey Green Pavilion, Clough Avenue, Wilmslow, SK9 4BU. Thursday at Wilmslow View, Henbury Road, Handforth, SK9 3PJ. We start with a chat over a light breakfast, incorporate an encouraging thought for the day and go on to various activities including a Job Club with internet access for job searching, etc; Craft activities; a discussion group; Money Managment and other Life Skills courses run periodically throughout the year. We finish with some lunch and another opportunity to chat and build community together. These centres also act as collection points for our food bank (by referral only).

Exercise for Seniors - EXTEND Exercise to Music clas

Exercise for Seniors is an EXTEND exercise to music class which is suitable for older adults and younger adults with disabilities. There are 2 classes a week, Monday and Thursday. We meet at 2.00 p.m. for exercise followed by chat and refreshments. Exercises are mostly seated, but always some standing routines for the more able members. Strength and balance are always included. Thursday class has been running for over 15 years and Monday class started 18 months ago to accommodate more members or people who want to attend more often. Tutor is EXTEND trained tutor and is also Otago Exercise Programme Leader. Cost of class is £3.50 + 20 p. for refreshments

Our group do different activities each week including arts, crafts, singing, table top gardening, no cook baking, quizzes and games. We also have a professional exercise class and entertainment each month and the occasional day trip out. We also provide a light 2 course lunch and drinks and snacks throughout the day. Our groups take place at Wilmslow View Henbury Road Handforth SK9 3PS Wednesday 10 - 3, Friday 11:30 - 4:30We are limited to numbers so if people are interested in they can contact me for more information, book a visit and a taster session

CISFA UK (Chronic Illness Support For All)

CISFA is a non profit organisation dedicated to supporting adults living with a chronic illness. We offer support online and through meet up groups. We run a weekly peer-led support group in Wilmslow at the Undercroft Cafe at the URC on Chapel Lane. 12.30 to 2.30 pm on Tuesdays. It gives people an opportunity to get together and make new friends over tea/coffee and cake with people who understand how it feels to live with chronic illness. Transport can be provided.
